During an interview at the recent Taipei Game Show 2012 event director Motomu Toriyama mentioned that the upcoming Final Fantasy X HD edition is in fact a mere high definition update of the 10 year old  classic rpg. Rumors around the web claimed that Square Enix was planning to remake the game with a new engine and online play.

Since it’s announcement during the Tokyo Game Show last September Sqaure Enix has remained quite about the rpg. Only stating that its development was in the early stages.
