The eighth direct installment in the Resident Evil main series will be launching in Europe on  January 27th 2012 followed by a February 7th debut in North America. Revelations will feature a new storyline starring Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield. The story unfolds between the events of Resident Evil 4 and 5.

In true survival horror style, you’ll need to endure time-sensitive challenges, solve puzzles and escape deadly horrors, from sinking ships to zombie onslaughts. Utilise the Nintendo 3DS Touch Screen to crack puzzles and store items that don’t fit in your inventory as well as keeping track of locked doors you can’t yet open in the Game Notes. Armed with a Genesis Scanner, you can now analyse enemies as well as exploring areas and revealing hidden items.

Also Gamestop revealed an exclusive pre-order incentive for North American customers. Pre-order the game to receive your very own Resident Evil Revelations 3DS case with an image that changes in the sunlight.
