Resident Evil producer, Masachika Kawata, explains why Capcom’s new RE title for the 3DS is being built as a single player game.
“You can see the game is very focused on that horror atmosphere, so it’s not made for co-op play,” Resident Evil producer Masachika Kawata told Eurogamer. “We’re focusing on the single-player this time.”
The story in Resident Evil: Revelations takes place between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5 starring BSAA co-founders Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield, the protagonists of the first Resident Evil. Jill departs on a mission to locate Chris, who has gone missing.
Masachika Kawata hopes to resurrect the ”survival horror feeling the Resident Evil series has been known for” with Revelations. Will Kawata-san accomplish that goal? We’ll find out when Resident Evil: Revelations is released for the 3DS sometime next year.
